NEW - custom gift art

I'm currently offering custom art created from the client's photos or descriptions. In the past, I've drawn several pieces using someone's personal photos, ideas, and descriptions of a special place, person, and/or memory. For example, for my parents I made a woodcut-style drawing of each of them doing one of their favorite activities in Yosemite--my mom knitting in an autumn forest and my dad laying on High Sierra rocks playing with creek water--combined with a quote I knew they liked about the activity. For my parents-in-law, I took a photo of them playing with their granddaughter on the couch and made it look like they were sitting in one of their favorite parks while doing it, in a style that looked more like an old poster. I also made a drawing of my husband and our daughter playing in Maine, using a couple of photos to get good scenery and making a title as though it was a travel poster. (See examples on this page).

The cost of this can vary greatly depending on the complexity of the project involved. A very simple re-drawing of a single photo would probably cost $150, and projects involving combining several photos and inventing elements could cost a lot more. Prices are agreed upon before beginning, and the final project is a digital file that the client takes to print. The final print can be quite large--feet across--if requested.
